Long locks are always in fashion, but not all of us were given naturally long hair. If you feel like you struggle with growing your hair, here are our top tips on how to grow your hair:
Get frequent trims
We have all heard that getting your hair cut helps your hair grow, but we always wondered how. Our trained hairstylists in our Liverpool hair salon recommend that you should get a hair trim every 6-8 weeks to keep them split end away and keep your hair healthy.
Stay hydrated
Keeping ourselves hydrated is also keeping our hair hydrated. Hydrated hair is happy hair. Drinking water reduces dryness in the scalp and promotes hair growth from the roots. A well-hydrated body also improves sleep quality which helps in consistent hair growth.
Skip the daily shampoo
Our hair contains natural oils and washing your hair everyday will strip the natural oils away from your hair. A lot of people may wonder "so how often should you wash your hair?". We recommend washing your hair every 2-3 days. Your hair will become healthier and get into the routine of being washed less often.
Massage your scalp
Massaging your scalp increases blood circulation which strengthens the hair and promotes hair growth. Our hairstylists recommend applying a hair mask once a week and giving your scalp a 10 minute massage.
Brush wet hair carefully
When hair is wet it is a lot more fragile and more prone to breakage. We recommend using a Tangle Teezer to comb through your hair easily to prevent breakage. We also recommend brushing your hair before you wash it and while you have a treatment or conditioner in your hair.
Limit heat styling
Let your hair air dry when possible. Using too much heat will cause split ends and breakage, it will also make your hair become dry and dehydrated. When using heat it is a MUST to use heat protection.
